“Golf can be played individually or as a team and it shows a person’s true character,” said Olivia Hart, when asked what she loves most about her sport. “We have practised hard and worked together and most importantly pushed each other to do our best.” Olivia is currently seated 2nd of 12 and recently won an all-girls golf tournament at Big Bend with a shooting score of 36.  She has also shot one under 35 against George Washington High School this season. Olivia has played golf for approximately 6 years and has no plans of stopping. “I love what I do, I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”

“Success in this game depends less on strength of body, and more the strength of mind and character,” stated Arnold Palmer. Being strong in mind and character is something that Olivia does not lack. She has a passion for golf and a love for leadership and service. When she is not on the green Olivia is active in her home church where she teaches Sunday school, is a youth group leader, and a church lector. She maintains a strong 4.25 GPA and is also involved in the National Honor Society. Olivia has plans to attend college where she can continue her golfing career and pursue a degree in the health field.

When Olivia was asked who inspires her most, her response is one that is not often heard. “My brothers inspire me. I grew up with them always playing golf, and they won the state Golf tournament more than once which led me to follow in their footsteps.” Olivia also acknowledged that her brothers have always pushed her to be the best golfer that she could be and she wouldn’t be where she is today without their guidance and support.
Olivia has set goals for herself for this season. Every tournament she pushes herself to finish close to even par.  Her mother, Martina Hart, said, “Last week was the best high school week she has had.  She and her team have had the best year in the past couple of years. Olivia is a hard worker, whatever she sets her heart to she accomplishes.”
