Raynes Awarded Gamer of the Week Honors
Teays Physical Therapy Center, Inc. and The Putnam Herald are pleased to present this week’s Female Gamer of the Week to Senior, Alyssa Raynes of the Poca High School basketball team.
Senior Point Guard #3 Alyssa Raynes of Poca basketball had a phenomenal game against Charleston Catholic leading the way with 19 points and securing the 49-36 win. “Alyssa works very hard to be the best team player she can be” Ron McDade.
Raynes has been playing basketball since she was 4 years old. She gained her love of basketball through her dad who’s her biggest role model because “he’s very motivational and pushes me to always do my best”. What Raynes loves most about the sport is her teammates and the game in general the most. Raynes stated “Our team has had some ups and downs this season but we always recover and our chemistry is solid”. A team goal Raynes has for the remainder of this season includes winning sectionals. Not only does Raynes play for the Dots but plays travel ball as well. After high school Alyssa plans to enlist in the Air Force
Please look for other local high school athletes to be named in next week’s female Gamer of the Week Sponsored by Teays Physical Therapy Center, Inc., and The Putnam Herald.
