Communication

When you refer a patient to us, we provide timely progress reports and discharge summaries.

Medicare Patients

Following an evaluation, we send you a Plan of Care (POC) to be signed for our Medicare patients. The patient will be periodically re-examined and an updated POC will be sent when there is a change in recommendations or status. Physical Therapy & Opioids

West Virginia has been hit the hardest by the national opioid epidemic, and the effects on our communities have been devastating. In recent years, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have urged providers to consider alternative, non-pharmacological pain therapies such as physical therapy. In fact, the latest research indicates that for patients with musculoskeletal pain, early PT may help reduce the need for opioids and the risk of long-term opioid use.

Conditions we treat

Low back, neck, and spinal disorders

Back injuries are common and something many of us will experience in our lifetime. TPTC is specialized in handling a wide variety of spinal problems.

Headaches/tempomandibular joint (TMJ) problems

Headaches and TMJ issues are often frustrating and difficult to assess. We will coordinate care with a dentist or physician, as appropriate. Treatment may include soft tissue mobilization, neuromuscular/muscle energy techniques, postural correction, and flexibility and strengthening activities.

Orthopedic therapy

We rehabilitate all common musculoskeletal problems of the body, including the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle, foot and spine.

Sports therapy

Whether your patient is a weekend warrior or an elite athlete, we understand the importance of quickly and safely rehabilitation to reach their previous level of function. We also recognize that prevention of re-injury is crucial to re-establishing your patients in their sports. For this reason, our highly qualified staff will work with your patient, you and a trainer to restore optimal performance.

Pelvic Health

Physical therapy can often be the first line of treatment for patients with pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, low back pain, diastasis rectus abdominis and interstitial cystitis. In addition, our prenatal care can benefit women as they prepare for birth, while postpartum therapy can aid in recovery and healing.

Neuro rehab

Neurological problems, such as Parkinson’s disease, stroke, and multiple sclerosis, can negatively affect even the simplest of daily tasks. These issues can significantly impact your patient’s life. Understanding the role that these disruptions can have, we work hard to rehabilitate your patient to reach your maximum physical potential.

Balance / fall disorders

Difficulties with balance and falls can occur for a variety of reasons. Our approach to assessing and treating these issues can make all the difference in your patient’s safety and comfort.

Gait disturbances

Walking may become difficult for many reasons, impairing your patient’s freedom, safety and mobility. Our trained experts will evaluate the underlying dysfunction that is creating the disturbances in your patient’s gait, and develop a program to remediate the problem.

Presurgical training

When surgery is necessary, therapy done prior can significantly impact how quickly and effectively your patients are able to rehabilitate themselves following their procedure. Therapy will concentrate on strength and flexibility of the joint(s) that will be affected and will dramatically improve their postsurgical experience.

Work rehabilitation

There are times when an injury will negatively impact your patient’s ability to get back to work. In these situations patients may need a more specialized approach. We offer work conditioning programs that may be necessary to bridge the gap between injury and work.
