State Champs Buffalo High School Boys Track and Field

 

Teays Physical Therapy Center, Inc. and The Putnam Herald would like to Congratulate Buffalo Boys Track and Field on their State Championship!

Buffalo Boys Track and Field capped off another great season with their second state title in a row.  The Bison scored 118 points and had a 36.5-point margin over runner up Dodridge County. “We knew coming into the season we were going to have a shot at another title. I told them at the end of the year last year if we stay as good as we are now, we will get beat, because they are coming after us now. But they all wanted another one, so the put the work in and got it done. Effort pays off, and they proved it this weekend,” said head coach Jamie Burgess.

Buffalo had 5 state Champions; Nicholas Pitchford in the 800m, 1600m, and 3200m, Cole Whittington in the 300m Hurdles, the 4x800m team consisting of Nicholas Pitchford, Patrick Riely, Jackson Mallet, and Dylan Blackshire.

The Bison were led by a strong senior class, Nicholas Pitchford scored 32.5 points, Patrick Riely 16.75 points, Gunner Fertig 17.25, Jackson Mallet 11.5, Dylan Blackshire 7.5, and Conor Pickens 4.25.
