Ocheltree Earns Gamer of the Week Honors
Teays Physical Therapy Center, Inc. and The Putnam Herald are pleased to present this week’s Male Gamer of the Week to Aiden Ocheltree of Hurricane Baseball!
Aiden Ocheltree has been a key contributor to the (5-1) Hurricane Baseball Team. “Aiden is a huge asset to our team. He can play anywhere on the field and plays with such an infectious enthusiasm. He is a great young man who plays the game the right way,” said Head Coach Brian Sutphin.
In the first three games of the season, the Junior went 6-11 with 3 doubles and 4 RBI’s. “The season has been going well, getting used to batting leadoff and playing right field. I have been hitting the ball well, compared to last season the ball is coming off the bat harder. I put in a lot of work this off season in the cage and getting stronger,” said Ocheltree.
Ocheltree started playing baseball in t-ball after seeing his older brother play and thinking it looked fun. “I like how intense the game is and how much teamwork is required to be a winning team,” said Ocheltree. When discussing people who have helped him along the way he pointed to his family and coaches including his personal coaches Josh Burks and Kyle Jones.
In addition to baseball, he is a member of National Honor Society at Hurricane and participates in the team’s community service activities.
Hurricane will be back in action on this evening, April 2, when they take on East Mecklenburg at 4:30pm in Charlotte, North Carolina.
