Kelsey Brock Earns Gamer of the Week Honors

Teays Physical Therapy Center, Inc. and The Putnam Herald are pleased to present this week’s Female Gamer of the Week to Senior, Kelsey Brock of the Buffalo High School Softball team.

Senior Lady Bison Kelsey Brock had a great ending to her softball career at Buffalo High School. The Lady Bison’s won the Region IV Championship defeating the Ravenswood Red Devils. The shortstop first got involved with the sport with the thanks to her Dad when she was just 5 years old. Kelsey loves the friendships softball has helped her develop during her career and believes her teammates have become like a family to her. Goals that Brock had for this season was to go out and have fun as it was her last season to play with her teammates that she had played with since she was little. Kelsey believes her team was successful this season because her team always worked well together and worked as a unit. A role model that Brock has is her dad, “On and off the field he’s always been there and has my back, through diversity and everything else he’s always stoof by my side and helped me to become the player I am today”.

Coach Billy Rasnake “Kelsey Brock, shortstop and lead off hitter for Buffalo high school. Kelsey was a pivotal part of securing our spot in the state tournament.  In the best of three series with Ravenswood, Kelsey was 4-8 facing one of the best pitchers in the state, and also played great defense at shortstop with a diving play up the middle in the championship game.  Kelsey is an outstanding student athlete that puts in the work to make herself a better player. She is one of those kids thats always in our work out building try to improve and you have to love that about a player”.

Off the diamond Brock is a member of the Eleanor Blue Teeth Fire Department. She also helps out with the insanity travel softball teams teaching them everything she knows about the sport of softball. After high school Brock plans to obtain a degree as a registered nurse and work in hospice care. “I love older people and to be able to be there for them when they’re most vulnerable is something I strive to do”.

Please look for other local high school athletes to be named in next week’s Female Gamer of the Week Sponsored by Teays Physical Therapy Center, Inc. and The Putnam Herald.
