Eggleton Earns Gamer of the Week Honors

Teays Physical Therapy Center, Inc. and The Putnam Herald are pleased to present this week’s Male Gamer of the Week to Bryce Eggleton of St. Albans Baseball!

Bryce Eggleton has been leading the way for (9-3) St. Albans Red Dragons baseball team this season. The senior has pitched 24 innings in 4 starts earning a 3-1 record with a 1.75 ERA. “The season has been going well! I put a lot of work in this off season with my teammates, we worked out and got in the batting cage a lot…I really hit the weight room hard and tried to get a lot stronger, put on weight, and add muscle,” said Eggleton

In addition to his performance on the mound, Eggleton has contributed in the batters box as well. He has a .412 average in 34 at bats with 11 RBI’s and a home run. “Bryce has a great work ethic. He is a leader and has been an integral part of our success the past few years,” said head coach Rick Whitman.

Eggleton has played baseball since t-ball, and earned Mountain State Athletic Conference Honorable Mention honors the past two years. When discussing what he likes about baseball he pointed to diversity of skills and lack of body stereotype for positions like you see in other sports like football and basketball.  When discussing role models, he pointed to his dad as a great role model and someone who has pushed him to be the best he can be.

Looking ahead, Eggleton has committed to play baseball for West Virginia State University and study civil engineering. He says he excited for the opportunity and is working hard to be able to contribute as a freshman.

St. Albans Red Dragons will be back in action on Thursday April 17th at 6pm when they travel to take on (5-7) Buffalo Bison.
